I've heard a lot from friends and wanted to try this place out. Oh Mann...lunch was super crazy. It's a small restaurant but charming. I love the skylight. It took a while to get our food but it worth to wait. I had Drunken Noodle hot and it was yummy (not sweet like others). I ended up order To Go as well for my son who loves Drunken Noodle. My friend always had their Panang curry and Cashew Stir fry. My friends and co-workers are regular here, now I know why. I think the best time for lunch here is before 11:30 am or after 2:00 pm. I didn't take the picture of my lunch (because I was hungry LOL) but I still have the picture of the first time when I had dinner there. Dinner is nothing like lunch. There are many other interesting menus they don't offer at lunch.

I had the Drunken Noodles with shrimp and it was absolutely delicious! Wonderful flavors, fresh ingredients, clean restaurant, and awesome service. I'll definitely be coming here more often!

Bangkok Terrace, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! This is easily the best Thai food in Salt Lake City- I challenge anyone who believes otherwise to a duel-to-the-death thumb war. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with this menu and trust me, I've tried. The food offered here is diverse, distinctive and all around delectable! You will stuff your face until you have to loosen your belt and you'll still ask for a take-home box. I have friends who have sworn off Thai food in all its forms that have fallen to the ground in praise and wept when they tried the Panang Curry. It is the mecca of all things delicious and spicy. It is everything I want to eat when I am feeling sick, need to celebrate, or want to show visitors a good time in Salt Lake. The curry is my go-to choice because of the complexities of flavor and spice that are lacking at other Thai restaurants in the valley. While many dishes served elsewhere are one note, the flavors at Bangkok Terrace will surprise and please you spoonful after spoonful. The pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles are also a must try! Vegetarians and vegans have nearly an entire menu to choose from as most dishes can be substituted with tofu or vegetables. The portions are perfect for the price and lunch specials can be mixed and matched. The food comes out quickly, piping hot and the plating is always beautifully arranged. Do not skip out on their fried bananas and local honey for dessert, or their sweet mango sticky rice if you're craving something tasty! The service here is unbeatable. The owners are a lovely family who cook and serve your food to individual order and preference. The restaurant has a calm, welcoming feel, and the decor is as interesting as the food. With a meal this good, I am both spiritually and physically fed when I dine here. It is my favorite restaurant in Salt Lake.

I'm a regular here. The food here is flavorful, filling, and leaves you craving more every time. If you're a spicy food lover then hit this place up and get a curry in either medium or hot (both are great). Their lunch special is great value, and they also make deliveries. The waiter is always nice, too.

Yummy Vegetarian options! Love the Massaman Curry and Red Curry! It had tons of Tofu and Veggies in each bite. Very well priced for the portions you get. Very pleasant atmosphere. Love the skylight!

A great restaurant in a great part of SLC's downtown. The egg rolls were narcotic and I can't get enough of the Gaeng Massaman. The restaurant is family owned and operated, which makes for a real mom-and-pop experience. This place will not disappoint.

I went for lunch and had the red curry with tofu and the...I forget what it's called but it had chicken and fresh jalapeno peppers. The good: I tend to judge Thai restaurants by the spiciness of the food and this place did it right! They ask before the meal if you want low, medium, or high spiciness. I went with high on the curry and it delivered. The jalapeno chicken was also spicy and very very good. The bad: The portion size on the lunch special was a bit smaller than other local Thai places. It also doesn't include the funny little appetizer salad with the peanut dressing that you see a lot of Thai places. The tofu in the curry was deep fried and bit chewy. I'd rather they use non-deep-fried tofu. Overall I really liked this place and would definitely return.

Got a groupon and decided to try this place out. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet (I assumed it's much busier during business hours as it's in the middle of the b-district). It was a little hard to find (at the bottom level of Gallavin Center), but we are so glad we did! It's a cute little, family-ran place - we shared an appetizer and got the duck for main dish - it was amazing! Very authentic Thai food. The cook came out and talked to us for a while, it's just like dining at your mom's house! I would recommend to sit outside on a nice summer night.

Went there before a movie at the Broadway theater about 8 pm. Ordered fresh spring rolls and papaya salad, very common and safe Thai dishes. The spring rolls were falling apart, not wrapped very tightly. The papaya salad was a last minute order because it was a whopping $12, but figured it had to be something special... Tasted like it was the last of a big batch that was made earlier in the day or week- super salty almost pickled. TERRIBLE salad! Would have sent it back but the waiter hardly spoke English and was hasty in our service even though the sign said it was open until 9 pm. Also the restaurant had a strange smell inside- Sat outside which was nice, but overall I was very displeased with the whole experience. I always want new restaurants to do well, any business really, but I feel that the space could be better occupied by a higher quality establishment. I think it will be a while before I can have Thai food again. I'll stick to Channon or Thai Lotus.

Hopefully they were just having an off day when we were in but the food was pretty dismal. I had the Massaman curry and it was terrible, super watery, no peanuts - it honestly didn't even resemble any type of Massaman Curry I had ever had. The location is okay, the staff is okay - too bad the food isn't that great.

Love the egg rolls and Pad Thai. Great place for lunch or dinner, and the owners are very nice. Location is great. - heart of downtown, just south of the Gallivan Center stage. Definitely a good find. We'll be back.

Have the spring rolls and chicken skewers with peanut sauce for sure!

Why in the world did it take me so long to try this place? Wow, my taste buds are so happy! I got the lunch combo with Tom Kha Gai soup and Massaman Curry. I ordered brown rice and it also came with an egg roll. I took the food back to work and people kept coming by to see what the delicious smell was (I was in the break room, but the amazing aroma made its way elsewhere). I will definitely be back. SOOOO MUCH FLAVOR. I can't wait for my leftovers for dinner. BONUS: If you think they're slow during lunch, try to go! They had my to go order ready when I got there and it only took them 15 minutes.

This place? This place right here ninja?!.. yeah.. this is my place. Whenever my coworkers and I come out from a long meeting, or a stressful day where we need to 'recharge' our batteries with nicely seasoned/spiced food - we head here. The location is small, quaint, and chill - as long as you're not here during lunch rush! Whatt?! Anywho, the restaurant is small and family owned with a legit Thai feel, as in, there is Thai memorabilia dispersed amongst the walls of the dining room. What we all like most isn't the service (speed is cut drastically during that rush I tell ya), but the food is always well seasoned with herbs and spices, and brings that warm feel to your stomach (literally)! We usually all opt for the lunch combo, an affordably priced (under $9 with tax I believe), with 2 choices of entrees, rice, and an eggroll. Granted the portions are limited but they give you just enough to push past the clock to go home for dinner. Bangkok Terrace - don't you change on me!.. unless you wanna give bigger portions and more staff to expedite the lunch rush? :P

Bangkok Terrace is, dare I say, the best Thai food in Salt Lake City. I absolutely and completely friggin' LOVE this place. Really adorable family-owned/run Thai restaurant that opened not too long ago. Their service alone is 5 stars, always good-natured and even humorous, plus they are great at giving recommendations. If you frequent the restaurant, they might even give you free stuff! I remember when we went every week, we once got an appetizer on the house. As far as the food quality goes, to quote that old SNL skit "I love it, I love it, I love it!" Their Massaman curry is really excellent and has a bit of a kick to it. Their appetizers are all for the most part very good. I also really like their noodle dishes, especially the Pad See Ew. I always get something different here, one time I got the Shanghai salad or whatever. It's a really weird choice, the noodles are unlike anything I have had before. The one thing they really deliver on his spice. If you want spicy Thai food, this is the place for you. I know I must sound like a gushing school girl at this point....More than anything, the five stars is just for service. Try chatting the waitstaff up, they are very friendly and make the experience. Also, this place never seems to be crowded which means you get your food really quickly. Definitely in my top 5 of SLC.

Second time ordering here and everything was VERY good and fresh. Owner is great and helpful. Really made an attempt to make the experience better. Will definitely order again. Everyone loved the Massaman Curry and ginger chicken.

Stopped here on a business trip. The spring rolls and ginger tea were great, but the salmon with curry sauce was terrible . For $15.00, I was expecting a decent piece of grilled salmon with some curry sauce on it. Instead, I got a bowl with two filets floating in a dense very spicy sauce that I could barely eat. The salmon was not good quality. I asked for some veggies on the side and got a plate of barely cooked yet dried out carrots and broccoli. I would pick another option in Salt Lake.

There it is, a small restaurant on the side of Gallivan Center. Maybe you've walked past it to get to Food Truck Thursday, or on the way to some amazing From Scratch Pizza, or to see a concert. It looks unassuming. Maybe you're hesitant to try--"There's gotta be something wrong," you think as you stare into the often empty restaurant with fairly plain, generic walls and handwritten "Now serving mango stick rice" signs. But if you listen to those typical cues, you will miss out on the best Thai downtown, and maybe the best Thai in the city. For lunch, you can get the "Panda Express-like" combo-- two entrees (including curries!) rice, and a spring roll for less than $9. And all the entrees can be made vegetarian, with your option of chicken or tofu. I've had the pepper chicken, which was excellent with explosions of black pepper flavor; the curry paste chicken, a unique dish with red curry paste giving warm flavors (without the need for coconut milk), the basil chicken, herby and spicy, and a few others, none of which have disappointed. A friend had the sweet & sour chicken, which is _not_ fried (cool) and looked excellent. There are also noodle options for lunch, which I've not yet to have. It's a great lunch for less than $10. Pretty good deal to me. For dinner, the options expand, with more curries, more noodles, and more protein options. The wife had vegetarian Tom Yum soup, spicy, watery, but flavored with lemongrass, tomato, and mushrooms. She couldn't get enough of it. The Thai drunken noodles stand out, as do any of the traditional spicy dishes. The "meat loaf salad" is a warm entree with "pork loaf" (kind of like the meatballs in many pho dishes) and sliced pork. Tasty and different. They ask about spice level, and they mean it. Super hot is super hot, the nose-running, eye watering, almost too spicy to eat level that makes a really great Thai dish. Delivery is available (through a third party service), and that, or takeout, is probably the best way to enjoy your food in the evening. Definitely in the regular lunch and dinner rotation for me.

Wow. So I put in an order for delivery online having no idea that this place uses a third party delivery service. Two hours later I get a call from the delivery guy saying "Sorry the restaurant is closed." His excuse is that the restaurant wouldn't answer his calls when they were open, but now it's too late. Not sure who's more at fault, the restaurant or the delivery service, but I'll never attempt to eat here again.

Well what can I say about Bangkok Terrace other than I visit this place at-least twice a week on my lunch break. The Food is incredible, I have extremely high standards when it comes to thai food. The food is great, hot, fresh, clearly always made to order. The curry is to die for! Panang Curry is so tasty, so many levels of taste, deep red and orange in color not milky looking at all like some other places in the area. The Peppered chicken is super tasty as well. The food is consistent every time I visit. The ambiance is great, always bright and warm inside, easy to get a table, service is great, they serve you and they let you eat, constantly filling your water. The chef, she is so nice, she sometimes makes an appearance and when she does she always asks how your food taste and is concerned about your happiness which is a great trait to have in this business. I would recommend Bangkok Terrace to anyone who loves some authentic Thai Food. I have visited once for dinner and the portions are larger and just as tasty as the lunch specials.

I am a 100% pure vegetarian. I ate a vegetarian dish for lunch on 6Nov at this restaurant and requested an identical dish be packed to go. However the owner packed a chicken dish instead. On bringing this to his attention, I was told to return the next day to pick up the correct order. But the next afternoon, to my dismay, the restaurant owner's son was downright rude and derogatory and at one point said 'Get the F*** out of here'. I will never ever go to this place ever again and advise you all the same.

I have been to many Thai Restaurants from New York to San Francisco and have always experienced a basic level of satisfaction. The Tom Ka Gai soup is always my starter and this version was by far the bottom of my list. I ordered Spring Rolls that came out frozen in the middle, and finished with a Pepper Garlic Pork. This is the first time I have ever failed to finish the soup and I ended up boxing the rest of the rice and main dish for sometime in the future,,maybe. Too bad because I love Thai people and their food.

Went there tonight with the girls and we had a number of different apps and really enjoyed them. The main courses although good were a little off from what I have had at other Thai places. Over all the food was good, clean, and well prepared. A good bang for your buck.

My husband and I went here for dinner on a week night and were the only people in the restaurant for the 45 mins we were there. Our server wasn't very helpful when we asked questions about the dishes and asked for recommendations on what to order. We ordered the chicken larb - not a very good dish as it was very dry and had a ton of green onions in it. We also ordered the pork salad and it was dry and not very flavorful. We did like the fried tofu as an appetizer and the dipping sauce was good. The last dish we had was the drunken noodles and they were great - hence the 2 star rating.

All of my reviews are based on cost to taste ratio. This one hit a sweet spot. For $8 you get two side-sized portions of entrees, rice and an egg roll. I had the yellow curry and the cashew chicken. Both were incredibly delicious. Service was good, ambiance was meh. But, I just plan on coming here during the work week so I'd say it was just right :)

My baseline for Thai food is a well executed lard na. The one I received from here was just too watery, and the noodles past overdone.

I am normally not the type to write negative reviews but after my experience, I felt the need to say something. Based off of previous reviews, my experience may be an exception as the restaurant appears to be well received so far. My husband ordered Massaman Curry and he thought it was okay but nothing to write home about. We did find it odd that the curry did not contain peanuts, which usually seems to be a staple in this type of dish. I ordered "Shrimp in the Pot" as it was under the "must tries" and it sounded delicious. The food comes out and just after looking at it, something seemed wrong. I had a plate with some rice and a pot of overcooked looking noodles and shrimp. The shrimp was cooked to death and rubbery. The noodles were so overcooked that the sauce seemed to have cooked off for the most part and the noodles had formed into one big mushy clump. The little sauce that there was tasted dry and overly salty. I took one bite of the noodles and couldn't go on. The dish was completely dry and I even took some of my husband's curry to pour onto my rice so that I would have something to eat. I'm not normally a picky eater but i felt that my meal was almost inedible. I left feeling disappointed and I'm not sure if I'll be back but it does seem that lunch time is the best time to go if I do decide to give this place a second chance.

this is the first Thai place i've been to since moving to UT. i've had plenty of Thai food back in CA and this place makes my top 5 fav Thai places. went there for lunch today and had the chicken fried rice since that's what i always order when trying out a new Thai place. so i've been to about 20+ different Thai places and apparently Thai fried rice is a bit more greasier than the other asian places. aside from being a bit greasy, it didn't taste as greasy as it looked. the chicken was very moist and the overall flavor is what you would expect from a good Thai restaurant. next time i'm gonna try the curries.
